Ordering roll labels: winding direction and equipment information

Labelling on a machine means confirming both the label itself and the roll specification. The winding direction, core, roll diameter, label gap and quantity per roll should follow the actual equipment requirements and the results of a test run.

Do not settle it with “left out, right out” alone

Photograph how the roll is positioned, the label face and the web path, and mark the winding and the winding-out direction with arrows. The equipment manual or on-site diagram should be confirmed together with the purchase order.

Write the specification of one label roll in full

Besides label width and height, record the liner width, gap, core inner diameter, maximum outer diameter, quantity per roll, splice requirements and packing method. Mark unknown items as to be confirmed by the equipment owner.

Confirm the production batch only after a test run

Test webbing, release, positioning and reading on the actual packaging, equipment and planned speed. Record where and under what conditions a fault appears, approve the corrected sample, and only then use it as the basis for the batch.
